Sims at one time boasted of a population of approximately 1000 in 1884. The population was
just 98 in 1940. Sims was a brick making community near Almont in Morton County. Today, there appears to be one inhabited
structure, though the church is still used and the church pasonage has been renovated. The view below is a long view of one
of the most photographed ghost town structues. This old brick house must have been something in its day. To the right
you can see an old bridge for the railroad.
The following pictures of the brick house show various angles. If you look into the kitchen, there
is a very old stove still inside. Much of anything else of value has been stripped.
Below is pictured the church. I do not have a picture of the parsonage at this time. The pasonage
is said to be haunted by "The Gray Lady," a pastor's wife who died in the early 1900s. She is said to be a friendly ghost,
and those who have been in the parsonage indicate that she inhabits the top floor, and many unexplained noises are heard in
the house.
