Rosebud is said to have been named for the Rosebud Sioux Indians. This small community was reported
to have a population of 10 in 1920. For years the Rosebud Creamery Company was the major business in town.
This house pictured is the only structure left on what was Rosebud. Located about nine miles SSE
of New Salem, this building was used as the post office, according to my wife's cousin who is native to the area. The post
office closed in December of 1936.
