Why do Erin and I love cats? Aside from the easy maintenance, they are such independent but loving
creatures with sometimes strange personalities. Below are our two "babies."
|
|
| Xena Marie, the Warrior Kitty. Hostile and loving all at the same time. A Cat With ATTITUDE! |
Xena came to us for free around 1997. A friend of mine from work had a sister giving away the cat as it seemed that feeding
it was way too much work. She instantly wormed her way into our hearts as she was about six months old when we got her. She
was good company for our old cat Nikita.
Xena is hostile but social. She is fussy about who she likes and can swear wonderfully. She can be fiercely affectionate
and really pushy about it sometimes.

| Simon Peter Greytail. Pure ragdoll - loving yet skittish, he doesn't like strangers too much. |
Simon came to us in June 2001. He is a ragdoll, and the first "purebred" animal we had ever bought. He is very affectionate
but not a lap kitty. He loves terrorizing Xena, who appreciates the company but not the "hands on" nature of how he plays
with her.
He doesn't like strangers too much, and will hide for hours if there are people he doesn't know in the house. He loves
to sit by the window and talk to the rabbits, squirrels, and small birds that come to visit the feeder.

| Costello, our little foster cat. |
Costello will be with us for at least six months. He likes to play, terrorize Xena and Simon, and is very affectionate.
He has settled in very well.

| Nikita Sylvester (left) with Xena Marie |
Nikita was Erin's cat for 21 years. He died in early 2001. He was very mean in a Siamese sort of way, but as he aged
he became mellower. He was a good boy. This is about as close as he and Xena ever got together.
