I was asked by a former band member, why there was no mention of The Mods on this site. So, I thought I would create
a Mods page for his, and hopefully your, enjoyment. The sound you are hearing is the Mods in all their glory at a rare live
performance at Myron's Basement.
The Mods existed from 1982-84. We played a couple parties at a guy named Myron's house,
and threw a few of our own and were the entertainment. We took our songlist mostly from the 60's, and the songs we played,
in no particular order were:
Can't Explain (Who) Steppin' Stone (Monkees) In The Night Time (George Thorogood)
Sunday Papers (Joe Jackson) Surrender (Cheap Trick) Your Really Got Me (Kinks) Come On Now (Kinks) Pushin'
Too Hard (Seeds) Should I Stay or Should I Go (Clash) Louie Louie (Kingsmen) Life During Wartime (Talking Heads)
Wild Thing (?) The Huey Longheart Memorial Picnic (Mods) Jumpin' Jack Flash (Rolling Stones) Little Miss Prissy
(Stray Cats) Got A Line On You (Spirit) Roadhouse Blues (Doors) King Creole (Elvis Presley)
Widely bootlegged
because of the raw power of this band, two recordings are in circulation today. One is THE BASEMENT TAPE '83 which is a rehearsal
that was really hot. The second is the LIVE AT MYRON'S which is rare and hard to find. LIVE AT MYRON'S shows a band at its
peak. With the double slinging lead guitars of myself and Kevin, the surging bass of Scott, and the relentless power of David's
drumming, The Mods were a force to be reckoned with.
Because of their power, the Mods self destructed in 1984 as I
went off to college and Dave and Scott had to leave the house they were renting. There was nowhere left to practice, and the
legend that was The Mods passed into obscurity.
Keith Moon inspired, Charlie Watts solid, with a great groove, David keeps perfect time during a Mods rehearsal in 1983.
With searing leads that would make Eric Clapton weep, Chuck Berry drool, and charisma that was unrivaled,
Kevin rips out another blistering guitar solo!
Keeping a solid bass line, Scott shows the world that leg warmers are cool, suave, and very rock
and roll
Silver throated vocalist Stephen belts out another sexy version of "Life During Wartime."
